Lady Kings alone atop standings

The Lady Kings swept Thunder Mountain Lady Falcons Jan. 23-24 to remain undefeated in southeast conference play. Kayhi used an 18-3 first half run to take control and won 51-42, Friday then followed that up with a 58-40 win Saturday.
In game one, the Lady Kings shot well from the free throw line, hitting 10 of 13 while outscoring the Falcons 25-6 in the second quarter. Junior Eliah Anderson went 7 for 9 in the second quarter, and finished with 19 points. In the final minutes of the fourth quarter Anderson and juniors Charlie Edwardson and Alexis Biggerstaff hit free throws to close out the Falcons.
Saturday the Lady Kings controlled the Lady Falcons most of the game with a steady lead going into halftime 24-13. The Lady Falcons went on a 6-0 run in the third quarter to close the gap. With a minute to play Lady King freshman Brittany Slick hit two 3s to seal a win for Kayhi.
In the three meetings Ketchikan has outscored Thunder Mountain by an average of 17 points.

For JV action, the Lady Kings went 2-0 flying past the Lady Falcons with a 37-16 win Friday and a 36-12 win on Saturday. Brittney Slick lead both games scoring a combined 39 points over the two nights and didn’t play in either 4th quarters.
