The Kayhi baseball team split with both Juneau and Thunder Mountain over the weekend.
Junior Nathan Bonck threw a one-hitter in a thriller Friday, which Kayhi won 1-0. Juneau took Thursday’s game 2-1.
The Kings dropped the first game to Thunder Mountain then pummeled the Falcons 14-2 in game 2 .
The softball team remains stuck in a battle for second in conference play after another up and down weekend.
The girls barely lost to Thunder Mountain 10-11 on Thursday. The next day the Lady Kings ran on the field seeking revenge and succeeded with a 14-0 win. Later in the day, the girls had a 7-4 non conference game win.
Ketchikan then participated in a 65 minute tournament with Juneau Douglas, Sitka and Thunder Mountain. The girls won against the Wolves 6-1, Falcons 12-2, and Bears 4-0 to take the tournament. This makes the Lady Kings back-to-back Juneau Invitational champs.
The Kayhi Track and Field team held a home meet over the weekend. Connor Hicks and T. McBurnette went 1-2 in the 100m.
