Kayhi is diving in at home Sept. 18-19. Competition is boiling this week because arch rivals JDHS are coming to town as well as Mt. Edgecumbe and Petersburg. The swim team took first last meet, scoring a 77 over Petersburg (70) and Craig (29).
Kayhi Cross Country will have its last race before Regions Saturday Sept. 18. Kayhi will be hosting the meet and competing with rivals JDHS, TMHS, and ten other teams. The girls will be running at 12:30 and the boys will be running at 1:30.
“I’m excited and nervous for this meet,” said senior Sylvan Blankenship. “It will be the first meet I can actually run in. It will be my last home meet so I want to put on a good show for all my fans.”
Kayhi football travels to Juneau to compete against TMHS. Kayhi (1-2) is coming off a 48-30 loss at the hands of the Crimson Bears last weekend.
Last year, Kayhi had an epic win in the last seconds against the Falcons. But this year, Kayhi has new faces in the quarterback and the running back position.
Kayhi is also gaining a defensive player back from injury, Michael Greer, who missed the last game due to a concussion. He will be returning to the field this Saturday to battle the Falcons.
