The Kayhi Lady Kings soccer team took a win and a draw in their first two games of the season against Thunder Mountain this weekend. Seniors Charley Edwardson and Sarah Cool scored early goals for Kayhi as the defense took over, guiding the Kings to a 2-0 win in the opener on Friday night. The Falcons shook off the offensive rust on Saturday, playing the Kings to a 1-1 draw, with senior Jenny Hu scoring for Kayhi. The Lady Kings will be heading up to Anchorage this Thursday.
The Kayhi boys soccer team went 1-2 this weekend on their trip to Washington. They started off the trip with two losses, but came back on Saturday to win their last game.
On Thursday Kayhi played Port Townsend and lost 3-2 with senior Rudy Pankow and junior Radek Radzilowski scoring for the Kings.
Friday the boys played Sequim and lost 2-0. Kayhi played Port Angeles on Saturday and won 3-1 with Pankow, Radzilowski, and senior Sam Weston providing goals.
The boys soccer team will travel to Anchorage next weekend to play Wasilla, Chugiak, and Palmer.
