Boys Soccer
The Kayhi boys soccer team swept Thunder Mountain last weekend. Friday’s game was 4-0, with goals from sophomore Izaak Jensen, senior Sam Weston, and two goals from senior Rudy Pankow. Saturday’s game ended 2-0, with goals from Rudy Pankow and sophomore Henning Pakow.
The JV team also swept TM in Juneau, with a 1-0 win on Friday and a 2-1 win on Saturday. Friday’s goal was scored by senior Chance Rhein, and Saturday’s goals were from sophomore Collin Whitesides and freshman Tim Cook.
The Kings are playing the JD Crimson Bears next weekend in Juneau.

Girls Soccer
The Kayhi Lady Kings soccer team (3-5-1) split their two away games against Thunder Mountain this past weekend. The Lady Kings won the Friday night game 1-0 with senior Sarah Cool scoring the lone goal in the game for Kayhi. Saturday’s game ended 3-1 in Thunder Mountain’s favor. Cool again scored the lone goal for Kayhi. The Lady Kings play Juneau Douglas at home this upcoming weekend.

Softball
The Kayhi Lady Kings (5-8, 4-4) went 1-1 against Juneau Douglas over the weekend. The Lady Kings lost the first conference matchup 7-0 on Thursday but bounced back on Friday winning 12-4. There was a third, non-conference game scheduled for Friday night, but Kayhi was rained out. In the win, seniors Lexi Biggerstaff and Leesa Murphy led the way on offense, both getting three hits. Biggerstaff also had three RBI’s.

Track
Kayhi track had three first place finishers last weekend at the Juneau Invitational. Sophomore Erika Rodanhisler finished first in the 400m and 800m and Sage Acteson in high jump. Erika Rodanhisler has finished first in an event in all five meets this year.
“I feel like I know the competition pretty well,” Rodanhisler said. “No matter how many races I run against the same people, they are still able to surprise me.”
Kayhi has one more home meet with Petersburg this weekend before the Region V Track Meet in Juneau.
