On Saturday six Kayhi cross country runners finished their season at the ASAA 4A championships in Anchorage. For the boys, junior John Coss placed 51st with a 17:41, sophomore Leif Stephens placed 57th with a 17:53, and junior Paul Allmendinger placed 81st with a 19:53. Competing for the girls senior Desiree De Mello placed 66th with a 22:13, sophomore Elizabeth Knight placed 68th with a 22:16, and senior Tori Seley placed 73rd with a 22:48.
Kayhi football (2-6) lost 58-14 against North Pole to finish off its season on Saturday. At the end of the 1st half, North Pole was up 52-0. The Kings fought back in the 3rd quarter, scoring the only two touchdowns they had all game, but the efforts weren’t enough to end the season with a win.
Kayhi swim and dive team beat both Juneau-Douglas and Petersburg overall with 825 points on Friday and 828 on Saturday. Petersburg placed second and Juneau Douglas placed third at the meet.
Friday’s results: Kayhi boys 491 points, girls 334. Petersburg boys 331, girls 342. Juneau-Douglas boys 156, girls 343.
Saturday’s results: Kayhi boys 486 points, girls 342. Petersburg boys 408, girls 332. Juneau-Douglas boys 190, girls 391.
