Kayhi boys basketball are competing in the South Anchorage O’Brady’s Tournament this weekend. The Kings play the West Valley Wolf Pack on today at 2:30 pm, the rest of the game times are to be determined.
The boys are coming off of a two week break from games, and Coach Eric Stockhausen is glad his team got that extra practice time.
“The boys are ready to get back into the games but practice was good. Before the break we hadn’t practiced since December 23rd,” said Coach Stockhausen. “We were able to put in some good work while getting some rest these past two weeks.”
The O’Brady’s Tournament is hosting eight strong teams this weekend: South Anchorage (1-5), Kotzebue (5-3), West Valley (5-5), West Anchorage (5-2), Kenai (3-4), East Anchorage (6-1), Bartlett (5-2), and Kayhi (7-3). East Anchorage and West Anchorage are ranked top 5 in state.
Last year Kayhi beat West Valley in the championship game at the O’Brady Tournament.
