The Kayhi Lady Kings (7-8, 2-2) will take on Soldotna (8-10, 3-3) in the first round of the Dimond Tournament tomorrow at 6:15 in Anchorage. Last season, Kayhi fell to East Anchorage in the 3rd place game and settled for 5th.
The Lady Kings broke their four game losing streak with two straight home wins against the Thunder Mountain Lady Falcons. Soldotna is coming off a two-point, and a 15-point loss at Juneau-Douglas. Soldotna beat Thunder Mountain 43-32 on Dec. 17.
Kayhi junior Hannah Maxwell thinks the Lady Kings need to work more as a team this time through.
“I think this year with the people we have just need to stick together, since we’re all playing the same game,” said Maxwell. “We all need to win together and lose together.”
