Kayhi Baseball Plays Sitka for Final Home Series of the Season

Kayhi Baseball (3-0, 3-0) hosts Sitka (0-0, 0-0) this weekend for the Kings’ second series of the regular season and the Wolves first.
Kayhi played Petersburg last weekend and was dominant, beating them 11-0 on Friday and played a  doubleheader resulting in a 16-0 win and 13-3 win on Saturday. The Kings had a perfect mix of overpowering pitching, great at bats, and smart baserunning.
Senior Jack Carson and the Kings are looking to play fundamental baseball against a good team this weekend.
“We are going to win by playing the game fundamentally,” said Carson. “By throwing strikes, keeping runners off the base path, limit errors, and basically just playing the game right.”
The last time Kayhi played Sitka was two weekends ago, where they lost 1-0 on a throwing error back to the pitcher by the catcher.  Kayhi will be missing Senior Jackson Pool this weekend, but the Kings aren’t too worried about his absence.
“Jackson is a great player, and he will definitely leave a hole in our lineup,” said junior Kody Malouf, “but we have a very deep team, so his absence would be filled by players that can easily play at the varsity level.”
This Saturday the Kings will be celebrating Senior night, where they celebrate the Senior’s accomplishments.
“I am not too stressed out about the senior night game,” said Carson, “We are going to play this game like any other game and get the win.”
Last season Kayhi lost to Sitka in the Regional tournament finals, and lost in the 3rd/ 5th place match-up in the State Tournament last year. The Kings will be hungry for some wins against their closest competition in Region V.
