Lady Kings Soccer Goes 2-2 in the Peninsula

The Kayhi girls soccer team (0-4, 2-5)  went 2-2 last weekend at the Kenai Peninsula. The first game started Wednesday against Kenai with the Lady King’s losing 4-0. The next two games, the Lady Kings won against Seward 6-1, and Homer 5-2. On Saturday they finished the weekend with losing to Soldotna 6-2. Sophomore forward Olivia Kinunen, topped the weekend off with 4 goals becoming the leading goal scorer of the season. Senior Captain Angel Spurgeon was very pleased with how the team came together against the peninsula teams.
“We played very well against tough competition,” said Spurgeon. “Its nice to get some goals under our belt and build confidence toward the peak of our season.”
