Kayhi Swimming Host Only Home Meet

The Kayhi swim team is hosting its only home meet of the season this weekend, starting today at 4:45 p.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the KGB Aquatic Center. Kayhi junior Jaret Warstler has taken on leadership responsibility.
“It’s kind of weird to have only one senior on the team, because I’ve been used to having four or five seniors to be able to to look up to and follow while they lead,” said Warstler. “Now that we have a lot more juniors on the team, we have to be leaders to the underclassmen.”
With a 1:03 in the 100 yard Butterfly, Jaret Warstler is looking to get under a minute and beat Sitka junior JD Gagner who has a 1:01. Junior Maury Meiresonne went to state in the 500 yard Freestyle and is hoping to go again. Junior state qualifier Jessilyn Sivertsen is looking to improve her scores so she can get higher than 5th place at state this year.
