The boys basketball team (3-4) split with the Colony Kights (4-1) over the weekend. Saturday night the Kings won 65-53 after losing 70-55 Friday.
Junior captain Marcus Lee is satisfied with the hardwork the team performed.
“The first game we came out kinda flat and that’s kinda been the story for us these past couple of games, but the second night we came out fired up and played the way we wanted and came out with a win,” said Lee. “I think we played really well this weekend and it was a great learning experience for the team.”
The Lady Kings basketball team (5-3) beat Colony (1-1) Friday night 52-48, but lost 54-50 on Saturday.
As was the case with the last two games of the CCCC, the girls were locked in close games. Both games were tied with just over a minute remaining. The Lady Kings are 2-2 in their last four games, all of which have been decided by four or fewer points.
Senior captain Brittany Slick is proud of the way the team played this weekend.
“I think the best part is that we were able to compete with a team that had a lot more experience than us,” said Slick. “We just focused on playing hard and improving our game without worrying about the expectations and I think that it made us better as a team.”
