Baseball wins one out of three

Kayhi went 1-2 against the Wolves over the weekend. The Kings defeated the Wolves 4-3 Thursday night in Sitka. Senior Tug Olson closed the game striking out 3 in the bottom of the 7th inning.
The bats quieted down for the Kings in the double-header Friday. The Kings fell 7-2 and 4-3. Senior Kody Malouf went 6 for 7 with a walk over the weekend.
“I think we did well as a team,”said Malouf. “There were definitely some mistakes that cost us those two games but overall I think there were a lot more positives than negatives. I thought I played well but I’m pretty sure I just got lucky as far as my hitting.”

Girls Soccer ties, loses

The Lady Kings (0-3-1) fell to the Thunder Mountain Falcons (1-3-1) this past weekend. The Lady Kings lost 5-0, but were able to hold the Falcons scoreless Saturday to end the match in a draw.

Boys soccer sweeps TM

Kayhi (3-5) won both games this past weekend against the Thunder Mountain Falcons (0-6) in Juneau. They won the first game on Thursday night 3-0 with senior Izaak Jensen scoring two goals. Friday’s game was a little bit closer with the score being 2-1. The game winning goal was scored by junior Mark Jasper.
Junior captain Brayden Linne was very happy about how the team played this weekend.
“It was by far the best we have played this year as a team,” said Linne. “It was really good for us to gain some confidence going forward in the season.”
