The Kayhi coffee cart will be shutting down to comply with state nutritional labeling regulations.
Kayhi teacher Gail Lindemann and the students in her classroom have been running the coffee cart this year.
“We are beginning to have to calculate the nutritional values in the foods we are selling. The state has specific nutritional guidelines for schools, and for the amount of calories students are consuming,” said Lindemann. “We plan on posting nutrition facts and selling new snacks in the future.”
The coffee cart will continue to sell coffee, hot chocolate, yogurts, granola bars, and fruits when it reopens.
