The Lady Kings (7-7) split this weekend in Sitka against Mt. Edgecumbe (4-8). Kayhi dominated the Lady Braves on Friday, and won 57-42. The Lady Kings jumped out to a 19-8 lead early and led for the rest of the game. Junior Madison Rose scored 13 of her game high 18 points in the second half.
In Saturday’s game, The Lady Braves switched defenses from the previous night, and went into a zone. Kayhi scored 3 points in the first quarter, and 2 in the fourth. Rose and senior Ashley Huffine combined for 20 points in the second quarter. Mt. Edgecumbe led the Lady Kings 37-33 at the end of the third. Kayhi only scored via the free throw line in the fourth quarter. Kayhi couldn’t come back from the deficit, and fell 46-35.
