Kayhi Kings wrestling will be traveling to Sitka this weekend to participate in the Mt.Edgecumbe Invitational. All teams in Southeast will attend the tournament. Junior Andy Collins said the tournament was very important.
“After the boys performance at the Lancer we really need to step it up and get our head in the game.” Collins said. “This is our last shot to make a real name for ourselves before the region tournament, so we all just have to go hard, and show who the Kings are.”
The Lady Kings team will also be traveling to the tournament. Sophomore Hayley Gilson said she is pumped for the tournament this weekend.
“The Lancer was just the first step, I have to prepare for the real competition that is the state tournament.” Gilson said. “As for the rest of the girls, I’m really excited, Ada is so close to winning the state tournament, and I think this will be a good weekend to prepare her for it.”
The tournament will begin Saturday at 9 a.m.
