The Lady Kings (11-7) placed 5th place in the Maroon Bracket of the Dimond Lady Lynx Prep Shootout last week.
“It was a rough tournament but I think it was a good learning experience, we as a team can take a lot out of this tournament,” said senior captain Nadre Zhuta.
The Lady Kings finished 1-3, their only win coming against South Anchorage (48-39) on Thursday.
Saturday, Kayhi led Soldotna by four at halftime but got outscored 16-7 in the third quarter.
The night before, the Lady Kings had a 31-27 lead agaisnt Palmer 31-27 but could not hold on to the lead.
Thunder Mountain went 1-3 starting off the tournament with a win over Dimond. That was Dimond’s first ever loss in the first round of their own tournament.
Juneau Douglas went 3-1, they lost in the gold bracket championship 67-30 to Anchorage Christian School.
