Lady Kings sweep in Sitka

The Lady Kings (11-1) went 4-0 in Sitka against Sitka High (8-6) and Mt. Edgecumbe (0-11).

The first two nights the Lady Kings beat Mt. Edgecumbe 38-18 then 51-19. The next two they beat Sitka High by 46-39 then 39-27.

Playing 4 games in 4 days can be rough but Junior Hayley Gilson said they knew what the end result would be of every game.

“Playing so many games in a short amount of time is hard, but I know that our team can persevere and come out on top every time,” said Gilson.

The Lady Kings beat the Lady Wolves at home a month ago, but the games felt different on their home floor.

Junior Gabby Mas said it was harder to concentrate with their fans and the team changing their defence.

“They had fans which made it harder to focus and they also switched up their defence from when we played them at first. It is harder to adapt to the zone than a man defence,” said Gabby Mas.
